PENGASSAN Lagos Zone introduces digitalization process in its operation

    The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, Lagos Zone has introduced digitalization process in its operation.

    The Lagos Zonal Chairman, Eyam Abeng, stated this at the Zonal Executive Council, ZEC, meeting held in PENGASSAN head office in Lagos.

    He was happy to inform members at the meeting that cases brought to the Zone has drastically reduced as the Association has been in forefront of handling industrial matters between employees and employers across the Zone.

    Abeng said the association has achieved a lot of successes in the areas of Collective Bargaining Agreement, CBA, and social dialogue mechanisms with stakeholders and other social partners in the sector.

    According to him, conditions of employment, compensation and benefits have been enhanced through constructive engagement and innovative compensation models.

    He revealed that the leadership under his watch was focused on its commitment to strengthening the image of the association to maintain relevance, not just in the oil and gas industry, but the nation as a whole.

    The Zonal Chairman urged members to remain committed to the ideals of pragmatic unionism while living up to the expectations of the senior staff and strategic players in the oil and gas industry.

    As part of the union’s 2022 roadmap, the PENGASSAN Zonal Chairman promised to intensify efforts and advocacy in confronting some management and organisations that fail to honour CBA entered into with workers with all legal and constitutional means at its disposal.

    “Our focus and commitment remain to bequeath a legacy of a united and cohesive PENGASSAN, where members’ jobs, welfare and well-being shall be paramount. In our progression towards achieving industrial harmony in our industry, we shall continue to initiate moves to accommodate all members and their divergent views, while urging members to support the ongoing efforts by the leadership of the association,” he said.

    Speaking in the area of empowerment, he zone is planning for a training workshop for members say October or Novembers this year.
