The Nigerian Guild of Editors has finalized plans to confer Fellow of The Nigerian Guild of Editors on Goddy Ikeh come next week in Abuja.

This was announced by the Fellowship committee after a rigorous screening exercise.

Goddy Ikeh is a veteran journalist and the CEO and Lead Consultant of Fortworth Communications Agency, a media relations and training firm with national and international affiliations. A former CEO/Managing Editor of The Business Eye magazine based in Lagos, Ikeh is a 1979 graduate of the University of Ibadan and a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors.

He worked for the News Agency of Nigeria for more than 29 years and retired as Deputy Editor-In-Chief in charge of Business Desk. Ikeh has extensive experience with government and international journalism practice, including serving as Press Secretary to three Finance Ministers and working for international news wires and newspapers – Platts Oilgram, OPECNA, Pan African News Agency, PANA, African Press Agency, APA, and Star Group of Newspapers of South Africa and Bloomberg.

He has served as a trainer for the World Service Trust of the BBC and currently a consultant to a number of national and international firms, including the DFID funded organization, Enhancing Nigerian Advocacy for a Better Business Environment (ENABLE) on Business Journalism content development and Media Relations for Business Membership Organisations in Nigeria, Facility for Oil Sector Transparency in Nigeria, FOSTER, on promoting better and more efficient governance and strengthening transparency and accountability in the oil and gas sector of Nigeria. Ikeh also edited The Envoy, a weekly newspaper based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Author of the Nigerian Oil Industry (1991), Whither Nigeria (2021). Ikeh edited the book, Me, My Desert And I by Chief Newton Jibunoh (2001) and edited and published My Unforgettable Life Experience, an autobiography by Chief C. C. Okoye (2011).

Ikeh is also a member of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, NGE. He holds the prestigious traditional Ozo Title of Ezennia and a member of the elitist Ubaka Age Grade of Ezennaja, Oraukwu in Idemili North Logal Government of Anambra State.
