An apostle of PIB, Iledare turns 70

A great man who will be accurately described as the apostle of policy framework in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria with regards to Petroleum Industry Bill, now Petroleum Industry Act, PIA, by name, Omowumi Iledare turns 70 today as he is being celebrated by Emmanuel Egbogah Foundation, in the University of Port Harcourt today.

He is Emmanuel Egbogah chair of Petroleum Engineering, University of Port Harcourt.

A lecture in honour of Professor Emeritus, Omowunmi Iledare’s Seventieth Birthday titled Advances in Petroleum and Energy Economics, Policy and Management holds today Sept 2, 2021 at Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt.

The Keynote Speaker is Osten Olorunsola, Director, Fortune Engineering Nigeria. While the Special Guest of honour is Prefessor Owunari Georgewill, Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt.

The Petroleum Economist has so much to thank God for as he wears so many caps. He is Professor Emeritus, LSU Energy Studies, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Ghana National Petroleum Research Chari, UCC Oil and Gas Institute, Ghana and Executive Director, Emmanuel Egbogah Foundation Abuja, he is also the Regional Director, Africa, Society of Petroleum Engineers, SPE.

He began to struggle to have a policy framework in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria 20 years ago with Rilwanu Lukman, Emmauel Egbogah, Funsho Kupolokun  to mention but a few. He could be described as the only surviving key player in the Bill as many of his compatriots have passed on.

Energy Frontier joins his families, friends, colleagues and well wishers  to celebrate with Iledare as he turns 70 today.
